This is the film version of my second published book (see BOOK - DEAD MAN'S PLAN tab for details about the book and praise from the critics). The story is about a man who leaves his dead-end marriage and job and sets off for parts unknown. Lee Wyatt ends up in Dying Tree, South Dakota. He dives into a enfolding drama revolving around the town's favorite son, Ricky Mann. Ricky has turned into a mega-movie star He is trying to wrangle the town council into financing the majority of the costs for a risky casino-based entertainment complex bearing his name.
THE CAST
Lee Wyatt: Disgruntled accountant and frustrated husband who loads up his beloved dog Indy and an 18-speed bicycle and sets off in the car for parts unknown. After his car dies in the Badlands National Park, Lee loads dog into backpack and pedals across the South Dakota countryside. Ends up in Dying Tree, South Dakota where he finds a job as an assistant greenskeeper at a golf course.
Ricky Mann: Hometown boy turned mega-movie star who's pressing the Dying Tree town council to bankroll over three quarters of his proposed million-plus-dollar casino-based entertainment center.
Soaring Tree (aka Naomi): Offbeat American Native woman whom Lee meets at the grocery store and quickly befriends. They meet in cemetery at midnight. She introduces him to the joys and pecularities of peyote.
Jim Morton: Ricky's agent who after refusing to go along with Ricky's cover up of his personal finances from the town council, is fired and framed for embezzling from the star.
